How A &R STOVE INSTALLERS STARTED

Alistair and Carol Davidson established Gloucestershire Stove Centre over 30 years ago. The business started after Alistair couldn't get anyone to travel to his house to sweep a chimney, so he purchased rods and brushes and did the job himself. Upon completion the neighbours asked him to do their chimneys, they told their friends, word spread and the business was started.

After a few years of chimney sweeping a substantial customer base was built up and the business expanded to offer a full range of specialist chimney services.

now A & R stove installers have taken over the service will remain the same

A & R STOVE INSTALLERS can offer the personal service and experience for your installation and service requirements. As well as chimney building, maintenance and chimney sweeping we are also experienced in the installation and servicing of wood, multifuel stoves

A & R STOVE INSTALLERS  will install or deliver  anywhere in the country distance no object   –  If you would like a stove and have it installed by a reliable company then look no further. Give us the chance to prove to you that we will deliver for you without any hassle. If required we will provide a supply and deliver only service.

Modern Wood Burning and Multifuel Stoves

Burning Log Fire

This is a photo taken through the glass of an advanced technology wood stove, one that is EPA certified. Note that the flames are big and lush and semi-transparent, much different from the dark, opaque, ragged flames you would see in an open fireplace. The small jets and feathery flames at the top of the image are flowing downward from the tiny combustion air holes at the top of the firebox.

Not only do these stoves burn much cleaner and more efficiently than older conventional stoves, but the view of the fire is just spectacular, well worth the price of admission. Those of us who study woodburning for a living claim it is the best looking fire in the world. By upgrading to one of these stoves, you can save wood, reduce smoke and enjoy the view all winter long.

THE DANGERS OF FITTING YOUR OWN STOVE

home owner is heavily fined for DIY installation

You have a legal obligation and moral duty to yourself and your family to ensure your stove has been fitted properly and safely. It is essential that a qualified fitter installs your stove for you. It is not something you should attempt on a DIY basis. The fitting of a stove is critical and attempting an installation without expert knowledge can be extremely dangerous – in enclosed environments and spaces, it can even cause death through smoke or carbon monoxide poisoning.

                                                  Never attempt your own installation.

If your stove installation does not fully comply with the manufacturer's fitting instructions, then you might find your household insurance has been invalidated. If you do not have your stove fitted by a qualified fitter in the first instance, you will struggle to find somebody willing to help you should problems arise. The last person to touch your stove system is legally responsible for it. If you install your own stove and something goes wrong this could mean legal action is taken against you and in extreme situations, such as carbon monoxide poisoning, you could be held wholly responsible.

A registered fitter will always work in line with current legislation and ensure your stove is installed correctly and safely.
